How to get to Lecco...
Lecco is situated approximately 55 km north of Milan, located on the south eastern leg of Lake Como, this side of the lake we call "Lago di Lecco".
Arriving by Train
If you are based in Milan we highly recommend that you use the economical and usually punctual train service run by Trenitalia.
Trains leave on the hour from both "Milano Centrale" and "Milano Porta Garibaldi". The trains leaving from "Milano Centrale" will have destination "Sondrio" or "Tirano". The trip takes approximately 40 mins from "Milano Centrale" and 60 mins from "Milano Porta Garibaldi".
Important, there are two train options from "Milano Porta Garibaldi", do not take the option, which has duration of 1:39 ...it takes the "long way around".
Tickets can be bought directly in the station at the vending machines.
Arriving by Car
Lecco is pretty well sign posted, the main road which runs from Milan is the SS36, a dual carriageway which will bring you all the way to the city centre in a very short time. Exit the SS36 when you see "Lecco Centro", we'd recommend parking along the waterfront where parking meters can be easily found (make sure you have change).
